Reading Books, 5 months in...

Nate snapped this photo of Olivia and I reading our library books this morning.  Trying to make the most of Isaac's nap time and glad to be in a photo with my sweet girl:)

OH- and other random excitement from this weekend- we realized as Isaac turned 8 months we have been in Amherst for 8 months.  Definitely hard to believe!!!  One of the hardest things for me about moving is making new friends- my "old" friends leave A LOT to live up to!  But God is faithful and we are making new ones here, slowly but surely.  Pointed out this weekend by having a full social calendar, locally in Amherst!!!  Three dinner "parties"  in a row- Fri, Sat and Sun!  Plus church.  What fun!!!

Brother and Sister

As I tried to get a photo after church yesterday this is what followed...I LOVE THEM!!!

Isaac 8 Months

Isaac continues to be on the move this month- still with his belly on the floor.  Sometimes if someone sets him  up to crawl, he will stay up for a few moments and rock, but quickly puts his belly down if he wants to GO somewhere.  He is also VERY interested in standing up!  Often he will crawl to Nate and "ask" for help to stand.  I have been trying to feed him three "meals" a day in order to help his schedule be more consistent/sleep better at night.  I think last night he only got up once, which was a good night, though I am not totally sure since its all starting to blend together.  When he sleeps well, Olivia usually gets up more/longer so its hard to get any consistent sleep these days.  They both still have colds which hasn't helped either.  Isaac definitely has a voice these days!  And yesterday Nate thought he said "mama" when they were riding around in Target.  I didn't really believe him till this morning when I very clearly heard "mama" come from his mouth!  Unbelievable and exciting!  Oh, and he as three more teeth up top!!!  (also could be contributing to the not great sleep...)  We continue to adore this big little handsome guy!!!

Just for fun, Olivia at 8 months...I am blessed with two beautiful babies!!!

Weekend in Photos

Saturday morning we made pumpkin spice lattes and pumpkin scones at home- the scones beat Starbucks anyday!  Sadly they are gone now:(

Nate brought me flowers Friday night- beautiful!

Andy and Laura Papia found out their baby is going to be...

NOPE, not a girl, a BOY!!!  Sadly I didn't get any pics of the blue cake or people...but there are pics of the event- not to figure out how to get them...  We are SOOOO excited about Baby Boy Papia coming for our birthdays in February!!!

Happy Wedding to Geoff and Meghan!  SO fun to connet with these WPI people:)

We also visited Nana and Papa this weekend - Nana gave Olivia Cinderella- this is her really happy face while she is watching it this afternoon for the 15th time??

Isaac just loves life.

7 Months

Since I see Isaac everyday most of the day I wasn't sure what had really changed this month compared to last month so I am so glad I remembered to write down what he was like last month!  He is ON THE MOVE!  Still on his belly, you can not depend on him being where you put him down.  He has tried and loved all foods I have given him.  He gets really excited in his high chair when he sees food.  And wont be quiet until its in his mouth.  The last week or two he was getting up at night to eat a lot- NOT A FAN!- but last night he slept through the night- yea!  So who knows what is going on there.  He has TWO teeth on the bottom so I have wondered if teething is part of it.  He is 12 month clothes though I don't have an official weight for him.
The other day Olivia said "Look!  I made a diamond."  And this is what I found:)

7 months old!

After the first bite of food, he always makes this face that is usually even worse than this that says "what is this?!" but then he quickly wants more!

Fun Fall Weekend

After a crazy week where Nate or I were out every night and were in and out all day as well, Friday afternoon came.  A rainy afternoon.  We stayed in and had dinner as a family.  I was able to make chicken recipe that I had been wanting to make all month which came out yummy and then we just played and had baths till bedtime.  And then Nate and I got to just chill with each other till our bedtime too.

Saturday morning we hit up our local Stop & Shop for Birthday celebrating supplies.  Then we headed over to the Amherst Apple Festival.  The last two weeks the kids and I have spent a morning at the Amherst Family Center.  I imagine it is like a preschool classroom, but I stay with the kids and its free- snack included.  I had heard about this wonderful space right before the summer started and it closed for the season.  But two weeks ago we went and loved it.  So the fair was great because it helped fund this wonderful space.  Olivia got to go on her third pony ride of the year and we fed the goats!

Our next stop was Nana and Papa's house to celebrate Nana's birthday (a little early).  When I asked Olivia what we should get Nana for her birthday she replied "A pinata that we can hang from a tree and then all the treats will fall out."  We have read about it in a Clifford book and gotten to do one at our neighbor's birthday party earlier this summer.  So we did!  Happy 59th birthday Nana!!!

Then we headed to Bertucci's to catch up with an old friend Mike Yates who was visiting from England.  The kids did remarkably great while we shared what we have been up to, reminisced about the Wilson house, persons of peace, and even blackouts.  Sadly no pics, but it was a wonderful time.  Thanks Mike!

Then we headed back to Lincoln where we were able to surprise my mom with a cake for her 58th birthday!!!  Happy Birthday Mom!

And today Sunday, we went to church.  Nate helped lead worship again and did great!  Afterwards we got to hang out with my brother and his girlfriend.  We enjoyed butternut squash soup and went apple picking with UMass Navs friends.

Pictures follow, but not in order described above- I am having too much trouble moving them.  This is definitely not a professional blog:)

Olivia picked this one out- over Elmo and Thomas- she is definitely on a Cinderella kick right now.

Papa's turn- I think he swung too high...

Everyone took a turn from youngest to oldest...and then we had to hit it a few more times...

Aunt Hannah having fun :)
While we waited for Grandma to get home from ME, Olivia and Isaac played really well with the train station.

This bunny was as big as Isaac- 20 pounds!
Happy Birthday to you!

Almost the whole group- I think two students joined us after we took the photo.

I think she was more excited than she looks... the pony's name is Stanley.

Happy Birthday Nana!
