Glimpses of my Week

Friday morning I came downstairs to these two men making me breakfast.
I had a chance to capture this.  I am sure it won't be too much longer I am able to do that...
And a current favorite toy if Sam's- it's the simple things!

Wednesday night(s)

Not the best picture but Wednesday night I headed to campus with Nate while our babies slept(technically Sam was upset for part of it).  Something I think we both thought would happen often when we got married I only can recall happening a handful of times in reality.  And this was one of them.  12 students came out for our revamped NavNight.  We will try it for a few more weeks (the end of the semester) and see where it takes us...

Brothers

Isaac climbed in the chair this morning with Sam and asked for this picture(s) to be taken.  I pray they are best friends!

We made it!

Nate is home and we are both slowly recovering and starting back to our normal routine.  He had a great trip and we did manage to have some fun without him too.  Though we are all glad to be back together!

Some pictures (not in order- some day I will figure that out...)

Sam did not want to sleep in his own bed Friday night so aunt Liz and uncle Matt kept him happy.
Liz's fiancé Andy stepped in for Nate and made me a yummy treat.

Friday night we went out to chilis to celebrate this great sister of mine!
Isaac sat at one end with his sunglasses and the ladies...
Olivia sat across from me
And Sam sat next to me-  he loves to play with a bag of wipes!  I also noticed this night that a tooth was popping through in the bottom front!!!
Friday morning we alllll managed to FaceTime with Nate.
Before that just Isaac and I got some snuggle time on the couch before everyone else woke up.
Back at grandmas Saturday morning Olivia read in the swing.
And it takes two photos to get all three kids captured.
Saturday afternoon we finally saw frozen!!!

And then we drove home to amherst where daddy met us.  Glad that week is over!  Till next time...

While Nate is in DC- day 6!

Unfortunately the only clear pic includes a booger but that is an acurate and tame picture of my life this week.  I've tried to be patient and flexible...  Though I don't know I succeeded at either of those.  We took Olivia to school and then headed to the family center.  Pictured is Annmarie who is the "grandmother" who works there two days a week.  She is great and she loves my kids.  Thursdays parents take turns bringing lunch in so we ate and then headed home.  Isaac took a super short nap and we watched al that PBS had to offer till we headed to a new friends house  for dinner. They were so kind to have us over-  it was really fun!  2 more days....

"Hump" day

I made it through hump day without Nate!  Truthfully last night and even this morning when Sam woke up early I wasn't sure I was gonna make it.  But then Sam and Isaac went back to sleep till 7 and we all got dressed and Olivia joined us downstairs at 8...  It started getting bearable.  Drop off at school was ok except for pointing out the cute dog on the way that Olivia couldnt see.  She had trouble getting over that till she was back in her classroom.

On the way home I decided to take the boys for a walk in the Sunny weather. I am so glad I did!  Isaac was actually really excited about the stroller and did not want me to put it away!

When we got home Isaac watched a lot if pbs till nap time..

Have I mentioned that I have fantastic neighbors?!  Anja came over and watched Sam while I picked up Olivia with Sam.   So amazing to not mess or give up isaacs nap.  And so fun to pick up Olivia. It's fun to say hi to the moms that I know:). And then she stayed for coffee and we got to chat. I am extrovert- this fed my soul.  Olivia watched pbs...

Then we made window painting, had popcorn, Sam cracked up at a balloon and we went back outside- ended up chatting and playing with another neighbor while my other neighbor made me dinner.  Can you say amazing?!!!!!  I am a blessed woman!

All children were in bed by 7, I hit 10000 ateps on my fitbit so I read till time for bed.

Just 3 more days..

Three In a Row

Next week Nate wi take a group of 20 staff and students to Washington DC to serve for spring break.  They need to use our van to help accommodate such a large group so the kids and I did a trial run in our vovlo Monday afternoon.  To say they liked it, especially Olivia, is an understatement!  And I was proud of myself cause I took all three of them to Payless to get wedding shoes.  I think it may have been the first time I took all 3 by myself somewhere that wasn't church or a friends house.  First wedding coming up April 5th!

Day in the Life

When I used to write my ministry updates every so often I would write a "Day in the Life" update on a particularly good or diverse day.  Friday was one of those days for me as Mom.

Usually I cook with Olivia but after she left for school with Nate Isaac and I got busy in the kitchen making chili for our navNight meeting.  He was so good putting the chopped green peepers in the container.   He listened well and jumped on whatever I asked him to do.

Friday mornings I have been attending a group for moms called "Motherwoman." It is a support group for Moms that I was skeptical about at first but have really come to enjoy.  They provide childcare for Isaac and Sam is with me while other moms and I talk about how its going in a judge free zone.  With snacks and coffee.   There is an old tractor parked by the parking lot there so when we get there and leave we say hello and goodbye to the tractor.

When we got home Isaac and Sam took naps and I tried to unsuccessful but a flower girl dress for Olivia and make brownies for Nav Night.

Nate picked up and brought Olivia home and watched the boys while I took her to the Doctor for her 4 year check up which Included 4 shots.  She was so brave and afterwards we went to Starbucks.

When we got home we Made cornbread.

The kids and I ate chili for dinner- I put Sam to bed.  Then we said goodbye to Nate and I put the big kids to bed.  They really do so well going to bed together and sleeping through the night.

After bedtime I did a double t25 workout and continued pacing my house to reach 10000 steps while I watched parenthood.

I think I took a shower, though that's up for grabs:) and then Nate came home and I fell asleep...  Apparently the chili and cornbread and brownies were a hit!

All a day in the life of this ministry mom of three...

Amherst Family Center

Otherwise known as what I do in the morning with the boys while Olivia is in school.  At least twice a week we head there and it's great!  Today they had switched things around in the room and Isaac gave a little performance and got to play with snow!  Most days we have many friends there- moms and kids.  And they have a little kitchen area where moms can sneak away to have some coffee and a muffin.  Thursdays we hVe lunch together. They do a snack everyday.  And a circle time to close with some songs.  I had never heard of such a place before we moved here but I can't imagine this stage of my life without it now!  The grown ups there love my kids so well and want to help me be sane too.  I am grateful!
