34/52

So I didn't take very many pictures this week but that doesn't mean it wasn't eventful.  Late wednesday last week I took Isaac to urgent care (because our doc had one more week of maternity leave AND was switching locations) to find out he had in fact scratched his eye.  All day thursday he continued to be pretty miserable, not wanting us to put eye drops in and then Friday he woke up FINE.  Which was great on the one hand- I don't want him to be in pain- but annoying too- how does he go to bed with a cut on his eye and seem to wake up fine!  Choosing to be grateful and not trying to understand.  Due to scratch on eye and rainy weather we stayed home most of the day Friday, but had dinner at Chickfila- turns out Nate got to go twice!  I had no idea and he didn't tell me because he thought I knew when I suggested it- but I had been totally oblivious to his code words to tell me he was going without getting the kids excited.  Saturday we spent the day in Bolton with ALL of Nate's family extended family.  His aunts and cousins were visiting to celebrate lots of birthdays so we had a great day together bbq-ing and just being together.  Of course the only photo I took was of the random partial rainbow in the sky.  On Sunday Nate spoke at church as part of a college ministry Sunday- all of the campus ministers participated which was great- except Nate was the only man- where are the men?!  We had bagels with friends after church then collapsed at home.  Big kids watched tv while mom and dad watched their tv:)  Monday we headed to our friends home for a very chill play date.  Tuesday morning we woke up early to a thunderstorm and ended up with NO POWER FOR TEN HOURS.  And I didn't get a shower before it went out:( It was a not a good day.  Yesterday and today have picked up with trips to Mill River to enjoy the pool before it closes for the summer.  A week from tomorrow school starts!  Hard to believe and can't wait!

a not uncommon look for Sam
I did take a picture Saturday!  Nate cooking with Aunt Linda- I think he was in it for the chocolate licks. :)
Cousins playing ball
rainbow!
Amazingly my computer had a charge on Tuesday during the power outage so we were able to watch Frozen.  Just before this, they were all on their tummies watching.
We did manage to make it to the park late in the afternoon in the RAIN- Sam didn't mind a bit- he could have played in this sandbox all day!

A new attitude on wednesday- enjoying my kids at the pool.

Sam taking pictures while I am on my computer.

And Sam's other activity while I stalked a friends wedding pictures- he put all the returnables in the sink. ha.

Canaan is a beautiful place to spend a week.
Thursday morning I got to see my best friend from College Julia and her wonderful family.  Sadly they live in CA otherwise Sadie and Olivia would be best friends too I think :)

Auntie Liz reading a bedtime story.
Letting the boys play with my phone and iPod while I try to sleep a little longer...
Uncle Matt and Aunt Jocelyn take the boys to the lake.

Daddy is HOME!!!!  I wish i had videoed!

Back to everyday play times- swimming and picnicking at Groff Park.

Playing with Paint at our friends house.

Storyland 2015

On Wednesday my parents took the kids and me to Storyland.  We had a blast!  Somehow we survived almost the whole day!  I think the train was highlight for Sam, the roller coaster for Isaac and tea with Cinderella for Olivia.

This picture gave me a much needed laugh while Nate was away.  Our friend Mary offered to watch the kids for a bit so I could have some alone time.  While I was hoping to connect with Nate during this time, some technical difficulties made it impossible.  I enjoyed a coffee and book reading time, but was still feeling pretty blah at the end of week 1 solo parenting. Then I got this picture.  And I laughed.  Sometimes one just needs a good laugh.

Olivia with her crew leader at the end of VBS.

Isaac does not like his picture being taken these days  but I was able to snag this shot of him with his friend Gianna on our way out of VBS.

Friday night we had dinner with our friends at Astrids house. The kids played so well  the parents chatted till it was way past bedtime.

Saturday we headed towards Worcester to celebrate our friend Kristof's 3rd birthday.  We had a blast playing, swimming, bouncing and eating!
Sunday morning I sent Nate a picture of each kiddo- here there are:

Olivia's calendar

After VBS sunday they have a church picnic that included RITAS!  yum!
After a gymnastics bday party we headed up to NH.  It was a quiet ride:)
