Isaac and Jack

You may or may not remember my stories about Olivia and Lily- they are best friends:) When we moved to State College, Lily's parents lived across the street. Her mom, Laura, and I quickly discovered we have MANY things in common- we were both pregnant at the time (Lily and Olivia ended up being born 5 days apart and are SO similar!), we got married a week apart, and the kicker is that we both met our husbands through their sisters named Laura who introduced us!!! And honestly there are even more weird things, but you get the idea...

Last summer, Laura was one of the first people I told about being prego. She watched Olivia for me to go to my first appointment :) Not too long after she told me SHE was prego again!!!! I am pretty sure our original due dates were at least 3 weeks apart, maybe a month. We decided to find out we were having a boy, but they wanted to be surprised this time. Though all our friends figured they must be having a boy too! And we were both carrying similarly different this time- much lower! The funniest part is as it turned out, they DID have a boy- Jack Oliver- only a week after Isaac was born!!!

This week at life group the boys met for the first time- with their VERY proud daddies :)

This family and our other friends will be one of many reasons it will be VERY hard to leave State College this spring...how ironic for me personally to say, but so true. I am so thankful and so sad all at the same time...

Photos...

A friend requested some photos that essentially go along with my last post- Enjoy!

The first two weeks...

Well, tomorrow we will have known Isaac for two whole weeks! I expected these two weeks to be kinda crazy, but not in the ways they actually have been. I ended up having a repeat c-section- however, this time, it was AMAZINGLY better than my first one. I suspect partly because I knew what to expect, but I think generally the doctors and nurses were much less rushed and I think I must have been given different drugs or something- because I really felt great FAST after he was born. Nate joked while we were in the hospital that I should look a little "sicker" so they would let me stay through Monday:) They did:) I also suspect that God has been gracious with my health since He knew we didn't have as much help coming as we did with Olivia. My mom recently broke her wrist so only Nate's parents were able to come and stay with us- we are SO Thankful for them. They did an amazing job watching Olivia while we were at the hospital! And after:)

Olivia has done GREAT meeting Isaac! The second day she visited, she got up on the bed with us and leaned over and gave him a kiss!!! (unsolicited by parents!) And when we brought him home, she was at the window (I thought looking for me!) looking for "Baby Isaac." We aren't sure if or when "baby" will be dropped from his name and he will just go by Isaac. I am sure he will have something to say about it if it sticks for too long! At home now, I am more concerned that she will get too close to him she likes him so much. She wants to give him lots of hugs and kisses. She gets really close to him and in a baby talk voice says "Hi baby Isaac!"

The unexpected hard part of the last two weeks has been that we have all been sick!!! Poor Isaac included:( Last Thursday when Nana and Papa left, Olivia sat on the couch and watch Elmo and Micky Mouse all day- it was the most sick we had ever seen her. We brought her to the doctor on Friday and she had an ear infection. Though she has been feeling better, she went back to the doctor today, and now has one in her other ear:( Poor kid. Hopefully the new meds will help her make a full recovery.

By Sunday Nate headed to Urgent Care to get meds for a sinus infection. I had a cold the whole week, which has finally cleared up and on Tuesday we took Isaac to the doctor to make sure he was ok- they said he was despite his boogies. I think he is still fighting a little something which hopefully fully clears up soon!!!

That all said, Isaac has been an amazing baby. He is usually very content, nurses well, and sleeps plenty. Praise God! If he was a fussy baby, I am not sure Nate and I would be surviving these days!!! He is also adorable :) He has dark blue eyes which take in the world when they are open.

We are in love and so thankful for these children God has blessed us with.

Happy Birthday Olivia!

Celebrating a year later...
And then today! When she turned TWO!!!

She loves to put her feet up in the sky and "fly!" She is an extrovert- LOVES being around people. She is excited for mommy and daddy to go to the hospital to meet baby Isaac, Hope is going to come play with her, and Nana and Papa are going to come! We will see what she thinks after Nana and Papa have to go home to Massachusetts and Baby Isaac still lives in our home and not in my tummy:)

We are continually amazed with this little girl God has blessed us with. The stories she tells and how much joy she brings us and others- what a blessing!

Happy Birthday Olivia!
